"Best project for sustainability": STIM Tech Group and Panduit win Italian Project Award
STIM Tech Group and Panduit win the award for "Best Project for Sustainability 2022" with the infrastructure network of the Gioia 22 Tower for Intesa Sanpaolo: an eco-sustainable skyscraper thanks in part to IT, combining design, technology and respect for the environment.
Design and Sustainability: Tower Joy 22
An open and flexible cabling system, a network of nearly five hundred kilometers of fiber optic cables from the basement floors to all offices: STIM Tech Group, with partner Panduit and Coima (Real Estate), has built the infrastructure for the Torre Gioia 22 in Milan, which will house Intesa Sanpaolo's new offices.
The thirty-story tower (four of which are underground), also called the "Glass Splinter" for its iconic shape, is the first Italian building to meet the EU directive of near-zero balance between energy produced and consumed.
More than 22,000 units including point-to-point connections, internal links, patching systems; smart cabinets with on-board sensors; room home automation and door-opening control, with maximum heat dissipation capacity: the entire building is able to cut energy needs by up to 75 percent, making Gioia 22 an example of sustainability.
Best sustainability project: the Jury's motivation
It is for this reason that the Gioia 22 project was nominated and emerged as the winner in the Sustainability category, according to the following motivation of the Jury of Italian Project Awards:
"A project that falls squarely within the perimeter of sustainability as green, smart and adhering to the EU directive.
An ideal combination of design, eco-sustainability and technology, which recognizes the network as a key element of the technological infrastructure.
An open and flexible cabling system that is fully compliant with standards in which the modern technologies of the Panduit vendor and the skills and capabilities of the STIM Tech Group partner express the strength and value of the ecosystem serving the Banca Intesa Sanpaolo customer to the fullest and best advantage."
The award ceremony
The award ceremony was held on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at the Copernico terrace in Milan's Isola neighborhood, framed by a beautiful glass window overlooking Torre Gioia 22.
Accepting the award were Matteo Ferro (VP International Sales, STIM Tech Group) and Paolo Grassi (Territory Account Manager Network Infrastructure BU, Panduit): sustainability, design and technology, for an achievement to be proud of and to be taken as an example for those to follow.
