Torre Gioia 22: STIM & Panduit network infrastructure for the Milan Glass Splinter, headquarters of Intesa Sanpaolo

Networking & Infrastructure

A flexible, open and scalable network infrastructure

Intesa Sanpaolo Group, one of the leading banking groups in Europe, turned to STIM Tech Group and Panduit with Coima (Real Estate) for the implementation of the network infrastructure of the new building that houses the corporate offices: Torre Gioia 22, thirty floors of which four are underground, 121 m high for a total gross floor area of 68,432 square meters.

The building, the first Italian building to achieve LEED certification and built in compliance with EU directives on sustainability and near-zero balance between energy produced and energy consumed, required an open and flexible cabling system that could support the automation and needs of offices, interconnected devices, access points, data center, video surveillance system, meeting rooms and all Collaboration spaces.

STIM and Panduit to integrate a flexible, open, scalable infrastructure

The massive project, which involved the STIM Tech Group team with Panduit, of which the Group is a Gold Partner, consists of more than 22,000 units including point-to-point connections, internal links, patching systems, room home automation and door opening control, with maximum thermal dissipation capacity.

Nearly 500 km of Panduit copper and fiber optic cables were used for the construction, covering the needs of both the basement floors and the many offices present. Smart cabinets equipped with on-board sensors, controlled door opening and smart power PDUs complete the picture of a green and smart building.

An open and scalable project at the highest levels of automation

The benefits to the Customer User Experience are many. The infrastructure supports and ensures high levels of internal automation, both in security applications, but also in Collaboration and business communication.

The flexibility of the implemented network also ensures scalability and openness to growth and inclusion of new applications in the future, for a continuous evolution that sets the Glass Splinter project as an example for the future of the market.

IPA 2022: Best project for sustainability

For the Torre Gioia 22 project, STIM and Panduit won the award for the "Best Project for Sustainability 2022" in the Italian Project Awards 2022 competition: "An ideal combination of design, eco-sustainability and technology, recognizing the network as a key element of the technological infrastructure."
