SD-WAN: the next-generation network for the finance sector

One of the main areas of action concerns the modernisation of WANs and their conversion to SD-WANs (Software - Defined Wide Area Networks), which are becoming increasingly popular, especially in the finance sector, which requires fast, scalable and flexible connectivity between different network domains. 

It was precisely in the Finance sector that STIM worked as a sub-contractor for an important Service Provider in a project to migrate the company's IT to SD-WAN, dealing with site preparation activities in order to set up the new technology in the branch.

STIM's Managed Services, Service Management and Project Management teams managed the entire assigned project and implementation chain, also providing consultancy and other dedicated services, completing the work in the required time and manner.

A structural and technological upgrade that opens up new perspectives

STIM was responsible for updating 1,500 sites across the country, making the infrastructures compatible with the new SD-WAN management models, which allow the automation of updates, connections and configurations, provisioning and the autonomous management of security policies.

The project was highly challenging, but it was completed in accordance with the needs of the partner and the customer; the intervention brought significant improvements in flexibility, efficiency and security of the network, allowing optimal bandwidth management with an immediate return on investment and effectiveness of the technological infrastructure.
