STIM and PANDUIT™ together for innovation

STIM and PANDUIT™, producer of innovative cabling systems, were chosen to design and implement a new Tier IV Data Center by an important international Banking Group and the main on-line bank in Italy for number of customers.

STIM acted as sub-contractor of the Service Provider taking care of the whole project, starting from the planning of the structured cabling system, continuing with the installation of copper cables, fiber optics, rack cabinets and cooling systems, finalizing the activity and coordinating the moving & storage operations from the previous Data Center.

Optimising resources for a new IT environment

Support from the PANDUIT™ experts was fundamental in the advisory and design stage. It enabled overcoming numerous complexities in the infrastructure development and implementation stage.

The project’s main challenge was the need for fast implementation; imposing a rigid time and resource optimisation program, from the Data Center planning stage on to commissioning the new IT environment.

A new Data Center designed ad-hoc

STIM designed and implemented the structured cabling system, installing about 50 Km of copper cables and Optic Fiber trunk with 24 channels in the new Data Center. Use of hundreds of MTP Trunk enables a combination of single and multiple modes, while the 47U racks represent a highly flexible modular solution offering maximum density in RU terms.

The project was terminated in the time established. The work took place as planned in each stage despite its complexity and the difficulties met; also thanks to the support from PANDUIT™, to the satisfaction of Customer, partners and stakeholders.
